VERY SCARY TRANSMISSION FLUSH HELLLPPPPP!!!!

I am not dense when it comes to working on cars but me and my dad who worked on cars for 15+ years are stumped. I did a transmission flush. I did not flush the torque converter. cleaned everything very well. Replace the filter and all the bolts. Lowered the car. Put in 4.9 L started up the car. It would change gears but would not engage so it would not move. And there was a slight shudder. I had to push it to some grass. So I thought maybe I overfilled it. I took out the pan drain bolt. Nothing came out. My friend poured the remaining trans fluid that meant 9L poured. Still nothing came out of the pan plug. So I just stopped and came to you guys.

Things I possibly did wrong.
When I started the car was in park I did not change it to neutral until a little bit after draining it.
While the car was in part i turned the crank just to try and see the tc bolt for future reference.

No codes or anything came

Please help I have no car. Plus I really loves this car a lot.

You put fluid in the engine dipstick tube. Stop, drain & flush engine & change oil filter.

This is the transmission filler with breakoff tab on the 5 speed ~ the 7 speed is filled from below by the overflow method:

This is the engine dipstick tube:

Good Luck!

This is the fluid change procedure for the 7 speed ~ you need to replace pan bolts. There is no filler/dipstick tube on the 7 speed.

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...ce-thread.html

If your MY is correct you should have a 7 speed ~ 722.9.

The MY2006 CLK500 has the 722.9 7-speed transmission, and as Glyn pointed out, there is no top-side dipstick/filler tube for this model. The fluid has to be pumped in through the drain plug. Also, make sure you use the proper transmission fluid (Shell ATF-134 is approved and can usually be found locally). Look at the top of the forum - there is a sticky that links to many great threads and information on DIY fluid change for the 722.9. It's not terribly difficult, but it does require some specific procedures.

Wow, you have like 18 quarts of fluid in your engine. That can't be good. Seriously, tow it to a place and have it done. Unless you plan on buying an infrared thermometer, and reading up on the correct method, just bite the bullet and chalk this up to experience.

The bolts that I am talking about are the aluminium stretch bolts that hold the pan to the transmission casing. They are use once! The drain plug is very obvious under the pan & where you screw in a refill adaptor. Rudeney's thread shows you how to build your own refill pump.

Do not start that engine with so much fluid in it. If it forces fluid through the breathers it can hydralock & bend a conrod.

I think you are actually asking about the engine oil drain plug? You'll have to remove the bottom engine cover, and then look for the lower oil pan - it's toward the back of the engine. The drain bolt will be on the back left corner of the pan.

Don't worry much about a little transmission fluid residue in the oil. AS long as you drain the pan and refill, you'll be fine there.

Thanks guys I got it taken care of I used a bug sprayer to pump the fluid in it worked great. What is strange though is my engine runs smoother now then when I took it in for an oil change. I feel like I wasted my money. But gear change is good I am going to double check the temp this coming up weekend. That way I know for sure. I did get a little sideways yesterday and 0 transmission slip or issues.

Good deal! Nice DIY with using the bug sprayer as a pump. Did you buy a filler adapter the screws into the transmission drain, or did you fashion your own?

The pump was actually really awesome. You could lock the handle so it kept flowing while you pumped. The wand and where the wand was connected is threaded so you could rig up something more streamline. The wand with the nozzle taken off actually fit very well in the plug hole. I just made a gasket with some riggers duct tape (redneck I know). It also help that the sprayer was measured gave you idea of amount and a flow rate.

It is behind the engine oil filler neck and approximately 4 inches lower. Not sure about the 240 but on the 55 you almost can't see it at all with the intake on the engine.

Remove the engine cover. You'll see the transmission dip tube down below, behind the engine oil dip tube:
