Replacing sun visor vanity mirror on CLK A/W209 2003
Hi folks. I was having trouble finding advice on how to repair a cracked vanity mirror in the sunvisor on my 2003 CLK.
The mirror is embedded in a bezel that is snapped into the metal plate inside the visor. The mounts are plastic posts that have been kept in place by a metal barb system at four mounting points. Using a rubber covered flat blade screwdriver (a standard one with a bit of gaffer or duck tape will work too) so as not to damage the mounting bezel, I removed the bezel very gently so as not to break it.
When the mount was removed the old mirror came off relatively easily (it is clipped in to the back of the mount).
Replacing the mirror is quite easy with a $10 mirror form your local auto parts store and glass cutter.
I miscalculated a bit and needed to encourage the mirror to stay put with some tape....but the result is ok.
I am buggered if I can work out how to put the pictures the right way up...sorry.

THANKS!
I have been looking for a way to do this. Thanks for the detailed pictures and instructions. This is exactly what I needed to try and fix the hinge springs in my parents' 2011 C250.

replacing vanity mirror on a 2006 cls
Hi everyone.
I've just bought a 2006 CLS which has a cpl of annoying little faults:
firstly, the passenger side vanity mirror needs replacing and i have no idea where to get the replacement glass.
secondly, the "stowage compartment" by the front ormrest cover is broken
finally, the chrome clip on the rear passenger door ash tray(?) needs replacing.
Does anyone know where I can get these parts and how hard is it to replace them? Many thanks, Ian

Sun visor repair or replacement
The drivers side vanity mirror cover has broken one of the tabs and won't stay in place on my 07 clk350 cabriolet. Does anyone know where to get a replacement door? The stealership wants $378. For one. I assume it was for the entire visor.
Has anyone had any thoughts or success repairing the tabs?
