I installed this on my car and I would not have a cabriolet without these features! It makes things so much more convenient. I installed it myself, literally, on my lunch break from work. It was easy and the instructions are good. If you have done any minor interior trim and/or audio work on a car, you can easily do this.

Guys, this device is very easy to install. The instructions that come with it are very clear. You remove the trim on the driver's door sill, find a few certain wires to tap into (they supply the snap-in "vampire taps") and then you have to connect to the proper wire on the CAN bus bar. You have to try each wire on the bus bar until you get the "right" one, but the LED on the SmartTop will blink when you have the right one. Really, if you can do some simple wiring, it's not a big deal.

I literally installed this on my lunch break. It took less than an hour, most of the time spent on step 8, "testing" the various circuits on the CAN bus connector block. Of course the "correct" wire was the very last one on the block!

Thanks all, appreciate the info and thoughts on the ease of installation, golf, skeet shooting, and flip turns are supposed to be no brainers as well but all have eluded me thus far as well, I can at least buy my way home with this!

I understand. At least armed with the information on how easy it is for a "shade tree" guy like me, and you see the installation steps, you will not be overcharged. I'd say anyone charging more than $100-$150 is gouging.
