Good to hear they are working now. These are definitely not OEM quality parts.

Drivers side is lower. the pattern should look like this:
____
____/

Both headlights will project the same pattern, the trick is getting them to line up with each other perfectly. In mine the horizontal adjustment on the left unit is broken. Also, after adjusting, you need to turn the big white knob on the back of the assembly to release spring tension, then turn it back to re-lock it.

is there a specific height tho? I read somewhere that it should be 35 inches or so ... so if its 35 inches is that the left or the right?

thx again for your help!

It's more complicated than that. Here's a good article detailing the process:

I'm new to the forum and JUST picked up a 2005 CLK320! It's got the crappy halogen chrome headlights and I really like the black ones that you have!

Where exactly did you get them from and how it the quality?

when you said it was a PITA to install, why so?

Thanks

Ebay.

Removing the bumper was a pain but if you know how, then its not too bad. Aligning them to fit takes some time as well.

Aftermarket anything always gives you some kind of issue. Theres alot of good info on these headlights so definitely do some research. GL

2005 CLK500 Convertible
Today I was replacing my stock halogen headlights with depo Quad Projector Xenon HID 6000K. Everything went smooth and easy including bumper removal. But I have 2 questions.
Do I need to remove the rubber tubing at the front bottom of the headlight (shown on the attached picture)?
Is it normal, it feels like the wire connector doesn't go all the way into the socket of the headlight? The headlights work fine and look much better than halogens.
Thanks for the help.

Can you convert these between RHD and LHD?

Hey Guys,

I live in a right hand drive country(Australia) and unfortunately I can only find these or any aftermarket headlights for Europe or America. Does anyone have photos of the cutoff shield or know if there is any way I can modify/convert them to suit a right hand drive car?

Thanks, Luzian
