What are they asking for this 2003 CLK 500 back there. I'm in California with a CLK 500 and am thinking about selling it. My wife loves it but I'm looking for a 911 Turbo

Well I went the other way last year. Got rid of my 1996 C2 Cab to get into a 2008 CLK droptop. At first it was hard and I regretted the move, but a couple of weeks ago I fired up my 1995 C4 Cab. Man, is it tight behind the wheel of that car! I got spoiled by the room I have in the CLK. I am not a small guy, 6'3" 266# and the Porsche definitely makes you feel like you are part of the car. But I am thinking of selling it and then selling all the pieces parts I have t make room in my garage. New to me wheels are at the top of the list as is an AMG spoiler from a forum sponsor. But the thought behind this ramble was to recommend you get in a 911 and drive it. Lots of fun, but make sure you fit.

2005 CLK500 wanted

I'm on the same path as some on this post. Looking to switch from BMW to Benz. Im hooked on the 2005 CLK500 after a few test drives. Can't find much information on the 2005 options. A lot of cars for sale advertise AMG but I'm not clear if there are various levels of AMG options. Anyone willing to educate me on what to expect. I'm looking forward to doing any related maintenance but would rather stay away from tranny issues. So far my only must have is the keyless start. Would like to know if it's better to go with non AMG and get aftermarket suspension, intake, exhaust, and stereo for future mods.

Woodbridge Virginia. I found a 2005 500 for $7500 115k miles no AMG. Trying to see if its worth spending more for others available with AMG but they run up to 10k with similar miles and not sure if there are different versions of the AMG package.

If I was looking for an other w209 it would have to be with the AMG package! The car looks completely different than with the AMG front bumper and the dual tip exhaust.

Another good option is a 05 clk55 but they can be a bit harder to find in good condition.

I have a 09 clk550 which im looking to sell. It has been in my garage since November since we been having ****ty weather in NY and don't want to take it out. Bet of all I only have 30k miles on it. I drove it down to Charlottesville, VA a couple of times and it has been a blast!

I would recommend a w209 to anyone considering that this is my 2nd one next one will be a clk63 BS.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The AMG-inspired sport appearance package was standard on all USA-model V8 CLKs (CLK500/CLK550). This is only an appearance package affected the bumpers, side skirts, exhacst tips and standard wheel. There are no functional changes. It was an option (a hard to find one) on the USA V6 models.

The MY2005 CLK500 has one thing I'd worry about - it has an early version of the 722.9 7GTRONIC transmission. They tend to be more problematic. Usually they require a change of the conductor plate and turbine speed sensors, about $2K.

Rodney, Thanks for the good info... The 500 I'm looking at is indeed a 7 speed with the 722901 gearbox. When looking up the vin number, the delivery date is 2005-02-08. Is that one of the early version you are referring to? If I get the 500, is it common to perform minor performance modifications like... H&R springs, sport shocks, CAI, straight through exhaust?

The definition of an "early" 722.9 transmission is anything prior to MY2008.
