Comand upgrade and do I have a c209 or a w209?
Hi all, just joined the forum and need some advice.
I have bought a '54 CLK 270 CDI Aventgarde and want to upgrade my Audio 20 unit for a COMAND unit with sat-nav. Would this be a simple unit swap or (as i suspect) is it a little more complicated?
my dash
I'm also not sure if I have a c209 or a w209 how can I tell?
Thanks for any replies in advance.

It is a "W209" chassis. The cabriolet model is often referred to as the "A209" and the coupe the "C209", but in terms of the radio, there is no difference. To swap the base radio for a COMAND unit, it's pretty much plug and play, but you will need a GPS antenna. There are several threads here where owners have done this.

Ahh brilliant. Those magic 'plug and play' words are music to my ears.
Thanks very much for your help. I'll do a search for those other threads and
hopefully get my CLK comanded up.
