Clk500 Widest Spacer Width
ive done a great deal of searching to no definitive answer really. I have a clk500 with 17" amg package wheels and i really want to just poke the wheels out as far as possible, how big of a spacer can i fit with only 17" wheels? 35mm? 45mm? On my old M3 i had 19"s and could only fit 10mm spacers. any info would help thanks!

Maybe someone else knows off the top of their head but you could measure how far out you would like the wheel to go and then get that spacer width? Get ready for rubbing if you want it flush. Otherwise you need to account for the wheel having enough room when turning and going over bumps. If you know the offset of your wheels you can compare it to other setups in the wheel sticky that people have reported no problems.

Ok thanks! I figured with 17's and 255 tires and wouldn't really experience that much rubbing? I'll take off a front and back wheel today to get the et unless someone knows them for the stock 2004 17" amg pckg wheels.

If you have OEM AMG III wheels on your car they have ET37 in the front and ET34 in the back. If you have different OEM wheels you can find the Et here: http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mer.../clk_class_209

I don't think it will fit and there could be alignment and drive implications as well.
I will focus on the math and let the fit be up to you. :-)
A 9.5" with the same ET as your 7.5" will be 50.8mm wider and it will reach 25.4mm further on each side. a 30mm spacer will move your wheel 30mm out and in effect have the outside of your wheel about 4.6mm further out than a 9.5" with the same ET. In other words you are converting your ET37 to ET7.
In your case it seems like you want to run 255. I am assuming that is in the back and stock is 225 in front and 245 in the back. You need to take that into your calculation as well.

I was just doing the math.. it is a bit unusual setup, so you will have to measure if you have the clearance and then try. You also want to keep an eye on tire wear as you may need to have alignment adjusted to support your new setup.
