Dreaded P2032 Throttle Body Fault

Hi All,

I hope this post is in the right place, but here goes.

A few months ago, I started having a problem with my car. When I try to start her, the revs alternate between around 1400 to 1800 rpm. ESP light illuminates, the engine management light is on, no throttle response and accelerator pedal does nothing.

For a while, it was an intermittent fault, but could be simply cured by a light slapping with the flat of my hand on what I later found out to be the throttle body. It was very intermittent to begin with, and typically in the morning. Once suitably slapped, the problem would go away for a day or two. Then it was morning and night.

Then it was every time I wanted to start my car. So after a spell in hospital, it is time to get Clara (my car) through it's MOT and back on the road. I was hoping to get her to a Merc specialist to sort the problem and sort everything out. However, no amount of persuasion would solve the issue. I got a local diagnostics company out to check her over and have been told it is the throttle body actuator (or actutator as he called it).

A new one is on its way, and I shall fit this myself. I have no real option as I cannot even get her to the nearest MB specialist other than on a trailer at the minute.

Anyhow, I shall keep you all informed as to what is happening as I know. The TB should be here in a couple if days or three.....

Fingers crossed.

Did you get it installed? Let me know if you had to program it somehow. My C class i suspect needs a TB as well.
