coolant fan not running

2008 CLK 350. My coolant radiator fan is not turning at all. I purchased a used fan from a salvage that was guaranteed working and it does not work either. I used a volt meter at the connector for the fan and I get no voltage. I tried turning the A/C on because I've read the A/C always makes the fan run and that did not produce any voltage at the connector either.

Any ideas for testing procedures? The fan has 2 big wires and 2 small wires.

Check the fuse. It is actually #5 in the "pre-fuse" panel, which is located below the positive jump terminal on the right side of the engine:

Thanks. The number 5 is blown. How do I replace it? I've search for part# A2035450301 and I only see one ebay in Ireland. I'm in USA. Is there a work around?

I found another part number A2035450803 on the prefuse box. Ebay has several for $30 to $50.

It's a standard bolt-down 125 amp "mega" fuse. It should look like this:

You should be able to get it at any auto parts store.

Now, the question will be, why did it blow? You may have a defective fan that will keep blowing fuses.
