Seat Belt mechanism

Hello guys, I have a CLK200 and I have an issue with the seat belt mechanism. It gives me the seat belt but it goes back immediately it does not stay for 20-25 seconds. Any ideas how to fix this?

Mine did something similar. In cold weather, and occasionally in warm, it would go in and out three or four times before it stayed extended. I fixed mine by taking the motor apart and cleaning it. It had a lot of little black dirt bits in it, and the gaps between the armature sections where the brushes rub were plugged. A lot of car motors are not really meant to be taken apart, but this one is actually easy. Getting the motor out is harder than taking it apart. Or you can get used ones on ebay. But if you are skilled enough to remove it, I'd try the free route first.

Hello, thanks for replying, I think I am able to do it but I would need some instructions how to remove the part first, do you know where I can find a PDF file or a video which can help me on that?

Thanks again!

I assume yours is a coupe and not a cabriolet? Here's the WIS documentation:

http://benzbits.com/w209/RemoveSidePanellingCoupe.pdf

http://benzbits.com/w209/RemoveSeatbeltPresenter.pdf

Or if you have the cabriolet:
