What am I missing - electronics in trunk?

For the first time last night, I noticed the small compartment in the RHS of the trunk. In it were a number of wires with connectors covered in foam but nothing connected to them. One was an important looking orange one

I presume that this cubby is for something, but what?

Factory amp. Those orange cables are the fiber loop between the HU, Amp, and CD Changer.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
There may also be unused connectors for other options, like the integrated cell phone and Sirius radio receiver.

It isn't that big a cubby to be honest, perhaps an amp plus one more item.

There are 8-10 foam covered connectors in there.

Does anyone have anything in there?

I have the HU and 6-disc changer, but no separate amp as far as I know.
