Out of curiosity, did you have to do any cutting on the steering column cover to fit the lever? This sounds like an interesting mod.

I'm still surprised that in the thousands of posts since I joined here nearly 4 years ago that nobody else has ever mentioned this. So when you say you can control the NAV, you mean you can enter an entire address by voice? Or choose restaurants, etc?

Yes, Linguatronic is a great option and was way ahead of its time. This came out on MBZ models in the late 1990s. I always wondered why it wasn't simply a part of the COMAND system by default. But then again, this is MBZ, a company that makes HID headlights optional on $70K cars, was implementing Bluetooth by emulating an analog cell phone connection until 2010, and still charges $1,200 for KeylessGo on a $60K vehicle when it comes standard on a $20K Chrysler 200.

Yep, it works!
First post on this forum.... hello all!
I can confirm that using the part numbers in this thread, it's a plug n play upgrade. No splicing, no cutting, all surprisingly easy. In mine, I only needed the voice input handle and not the entire switch. So no dis-assembly of the steering column other than to pull out the plastic plug where the voice input handle goes.
All necessary wiring is indeed already in the car, including the most fiber. Note that the mic input that has to be switched over to the voice input is located in the trunk, in the same wiring bundle as the rest. It's located underneath the carpeting and under the plastic panel that the cargo D-rings bolt through. Remove the 2 D-rings, and then that plastic cover panel and you have access to everything you need. All of it is clearly labeled.
Super stoked about this upgrade! Now I just need to figure out how to use it correctly.
Thanks xriston for doing all the research!
