CLK Neutral Safety Switch???

Hi, I have a 2005 Mercedes CLK500 and the car will occasionally start in Park (makes a very short turnover effort of about 1/2 second), but for the most part, I have to shift to Neutral to start the engine. I was under the impression that is was my Neutral Safety Switch going bad, but a dealerships told me I do not have an NSS on my car....Really???? I thought all automatic's have an NSS. The guy suggested it's my electronic control module (ECM) or shifter assembly. Does anyone know any better or have any advise? Thanks! Nicole
