First off, check the coolant level. It should be at the top of the clear section of the reservoir, right where it meets the black top section. If the level is correct, then I'd ask if you are having any issues with the windshield washer fluid level or pump - these are wires in series ith the coolant level sensor, so when one has a bad connection, it can trigger other problems.

I also should mention that when I turn on the A/C the fans does not got on. Also when turning on the A/C is does not blow cold air all the time you have to turn it on an of a few times and play with the setting and then it works.
So is it the fan or relay or temp switch or controls on the dash also the car when sitting for 15 min in October when to 100 Celsius.... ANy ides

Im not sure about this but ive noticed jt on my 2004 clk320 and on my 2004 c230. When the check coolant message comes on and my coolant is fine and so is my windscreen washer fluid and pump its most probably your engine thermostat. I ended up changing it on both my cars and the message went away. Both times upon inspection my old thermostats were stuck open. Which caused all sort of weird things with my c230 but not so much in my clk320. Message never came back on ever since. Maybe due to to irregular engine heating time the ecu things theres something wrong with the coolant. Just a guess.

its most likely your windshield washer fluid sensor. my control arm broke and my wheel went into the sensor and broke it off now they both go off and i have coolant fluid filled to the correct limit. so just change that first.

That does sound expensive. I had my fan replaced by an mb indy for 600 bucks total out the door. Probably could have done it myself for 350-400, but I was lazy. :-)

Turns out to be a lose connector at the fan area. When I tested the connector with a test light I plugged it back in and it now works go figure loose connector!!!

well here's a good story and a good ending folks I found a cooling fan for $150 they shipped it out on Friday today being Saturday I said let me double check to make sure I got power going to the cooling fan I put a test light on the green wire then other one that runs the AC and the test light lite up .when I went to plug it back the fan turns on so it turns out I don't need a cooling fan it was just stupid connector it was just loose that's it it's been so damn cold I never had a chance to really check it until today it's finally reach 60 degrees around here go figure right you order part and then you realize you don't need it but least I don't have to repair it I'm wondering if I should keep the fan just in case
