Open the top halfway so that the glass and cover are out of the way and you can access them. Unplug the wiring harness to each one and use a multimeter to test as you manually actuate them. I am pretty sure we've discussed this here on the forum - search "microswitch".

The microswitches are used by the soft top controller so it can determine the position of the various parts and activate the appropriate hydraulic cylinders. This thread has links to where I posted the WIS docs for all of these switches:

So looking at the diagram you sent me it is S 8415 is this switch that I have problem with it I didn't test it out electrically but that's the only switch that's there that operates the bow up and down so my bow will go up when it's unlocking but just won't come down when it's locking

Like I said, test it with a multimeter to see if it's working or not.

I've been trying to remove the window regulator on my 2004 clk cabriolet. All of the instructions describe the process with the soft top down. Can I remove the regulator with the soft top up?? There is no way for me to open the soft top without the window going down.

I believe the problem is not being able to remove the back seat unless the soft top is opened.

I'm new to this site. Since purchasing my car this forum has helped me a lot. Thank you!
My rear driver side window doesn't go down. I believe its the regulator. I have taken everything apart back there but I cant remove the black inner panel and I am unable to pull up and remove the regulator. Everything I've read indicates to put the soft top down but I can't get it to work. The soft top unlatches and the back widow goes up, but the soft top compartment cover does not open.

Today I tried to manually open the soft top compartment cover, following the steps in the manual (I released the tension through the trunk and tied the wraps). But I forgot that first I had to lift the rear window and unlatch the soft top from the soft top compartment cover. I turned the tension knobs back as they were but now the soft top is unresponsive. Now nothing unlatches.

What do I do now? My original problem was the rear passenger window and not being to take out the regulator because of the black panel. Now it seems I have a bigger problem, my soft top is unresponsive.

Thank you for your response Rodney!

If the rear glass is not lowered, the soft top will not operate. You will need to lower it manually.

The video is definitely very helpful. I have a replacement regulator. But I haven’t replaced it yet. My rear window has a lot of play (I’m able to move it back and forth if I pull on it) but it goes up and down with no problem, it just leaves a gap between the front window and the rear window whenever I try closing it, so I have to pull on it after it closes. Does this sound like a regulator issue, cause everyone else that has an issue with the regulator seems like there window stops going up/down.

In your case the something is not properly bolted. There are adjustments within the regulator. May be something is loose.

So I finally got a chance to fix my regulator. I had bought one on eBay. I’m attaching a picture showing the part on the regulator that broke. Instead of replacing the whole thing I just took the part off the “new regulator” and put it on my original. I didn’t take the regulator completely out what I did was remove the window and unbolted the regulator, pulled up as much as I can and just changed the part out.
I put everything back and it worked fine but I can tell that the window is not perfectly adjusted like the one on the pssanger side. I need to play around with it alittle to get it right.
