Accessing Engineering Mode (NOT TO WATCH MOVIES!)
Here is the Back Story
Recently I had a pretty scary blow out in my 2007 CLK 350
Right rear tire had a nail in it and exploded on the freeway going about 75
Fortunately I was able to pull over before I destroyed the rim. My car did not come with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
I had already installed the valve stem LED tire pressure warning lights on each tire (For those of you that are not familiar with this system, they are about 1 1/2 cm tall and 1 1/2 in diameter and they screw onto the valve stem of your tire and a LED will flash yellow or red when tire pressures are low -depending on pressure value) It is easy to check the tire pressures are correct as you enter the car by just glancing at the tires. ~20 off Amazon, batteries are good for 1 - 1 1/2 years.
When I left my office the pressure of the tires were all within normal limits, so I ran over the nail after leaving.
My E350 and my Cayenne both have a dedicated Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which have sufficiently warned me in advance of low tire pressures,
My Project
I have been looking to retrofit my car with the Run Flat System (which was an option in the MY 2007 CLK), Before hooking the car up to a SDS I wanted to see the options in the Engineering Mode. My research shows me that the warning system is based on the tire rotation not the actual pressure -so the TPMS sensors and receivers may not be required. So I am hoping all I will have to do is active the Run Flat System, calibrate the tire rotation and the system will be active.
Of course if I am mistaken of how the Run Flat System works I would LOVE to be educated. If I am right, I think this hack would be appreciated by the W209 community.
SO
How do you enter the engineering mode of a MY 2007 CLK. (Yes I have used the search feature and have not found a thread that works.) I should also note I have updated the COMMAND system to the latest MB Update.
Thanks for your Insight

I've looked into this, and I don't believe you need "engineering" or "development" mode of SDS. I am fairly certain you can enable TPMS via standard coding of the ESP module.

Thanks
Thanks Rudeney
I'll research the ESP Module coding and hopefully come back with some good news.

You can enter the "Alpine Test Mode" by holding ok+7+mute, but there are no settings that can be changed in there other than performing some diagnostic tests.
Am I missing something?
