Hey guys,

Yesterday I sold my CLK500, best car I ever owned! Picked up a modded CLS55 from a forum member

Here was my modding adventure, maybe some info people can use in there.

Just wanted to say thanks for such a great forum with great, helpful members. I was pretty much a total noob when I joined up but I was able to get answers to all my questions and learn quite a lot. And I was especially happy that I learned enough to then in-turn help other new guys. I'll still be trolling around the w209 forums helping when I can.

No specific order, and I'm sure I missed some, but these guys helped one way or another along the way... so..

Thanks for the kind words everyone... and the people I've met and talked to on this forum really make it an easy choice to stay in the MB family Which is also why I'll still be around the forums as usual.

I really love my CLK and never even considered selling... but the black does take a beating here in the Phoenix desert and I couldn't pass up on the CLS. The decision was made a little easier because my younger brother bought my CLK... so it's still in the family and I can go say hi to it (yes I treat my cars like people).

Taking delivery tomorrow morning on the new ride, I am out of town on business though but I will post some pics when I return.

Oh man took delivery today, too many nice things to mention.

Wrapped in matte white, wheels and brakes are painted, full carbon fiber interior.

Custom sub installation, radar, lowering module.

Eurocharged TCU, ECU, and pulley

Thats one nice looking car and you won't be wanting for extra torque thats for sure, congratulations.

It sounds stupid but the forums were one of the reasons I came back to MB after selling my C32. I had the Z as well but the nissan 350z forums are terrible. The people on here are nice, helpful, friendly and most importantly grown up.

Yea, I was originally in the market for a 3 series and the guys over at bimmerfest are just pure A-Holes!

I am so happy i ended up with a CLK350 and then a CLK550. This forum keeps me wanting Mercedes. the people here are mature and much more helpful.

As far as power, it should be above 550/550. I believe the previous owner said it hit a mustang dyno at 500/500 so that's actually around 600 hp and ft-lbs. Jesus you can feel it, 20-80 in a blink of an eye. I decimated a modded 335 this week getting onto highway.

I'm looking at moving to an 2014 E or 2015 C class right now. May wait til the C450 comes out. We'll see - car hit 200k and still drives good but not the same.

Not me! I've considered a replacement but haven't yet seen anything currently available that offers me more, of the things I'm hooked on in a car, than the W209 delivers. Should I come to a point that I need more doors, more power (or less ), or a different look, I'll reconsider.

I don't care much for or need much in the way of technology/electronics in the cabin. If I did, I may be more open to a change.

I love this car......
