Back at ya, Gary! I'm just sitting here watching the parade on TV, building up an appetite for "the meal". We'll be eating our traditional family Thanksgiving meal around 4PM. I will likely eat more than I should.

Man, i should really go to it one of these dags. I really take it for granted living in nyc. Yea mb world is always trouble, so much nice stuff for sale.

Btw i juat purchaeed some new tires and if you need discount tires dirext has a nice sale going on. 50 dollars off inatantly and a 50 dollar mail in rebate so thats 100 dollars off plus some tires have a manufacturers rebate! !! Can save like 180 on a set of tires.

LOL! Actually, my "looking for trouble" comment has to do with what my wife says. I spend a few hours each evening on mbworld and benzworld "talking shop", i.e. helping people with their car troubles. So my wife jokes that I am on the Web "looking for trouble".

And yes, living in NYC, you should go see the parade! Just about everyone I know from here has been up there to see it at least once. No excuses for you!

Ok so question for you.

I did my first oil change on my 550 and i didnt have a torque wrench at the moment (i do now) so i tightened the drain plug snug, didnt want to over tighten it and snap it. So, first is the torque specs 30nm and secondly, should i go under and re-tighten it with my harborfright torque wrench?

Next, the stupid oil filter was a pain in the ***. I had to go buy a new filter wrench that barly worked, i still managed to get the filter off and on again with the use of some napkins under the wrench. i did not have a torque wrench so i could not tighten it to spec. I tightened it snug and can not unscrew it by hand. Should i go and get oil filter wrench B 25401 from autozone which is a confirmed fit and re tighten the filter? Its only like 6 bucks.

Thanks!

Yep, the oil pan drain plug is 30Nm. The filter cap is 25Nm, but honestly, it just screws in until it hits the shoulder and stops. I would invest in that proper filter wrench, or, you could use one of these (below). The joint allows you to fold it to clear the things around the filter cap. Make sure you get one with a rubber pad inside so it can grip.
