2003 clk320 stereo question

Hi there guys. I just bought a 2003 clk 320 and I have some stereo questions. I don't have a lot of money and I'm wondering what the cheapest way to get an aux cable going in my car would be? I've called a few stereo places and they keep talking all this jazz about the optic system that the stereo uses and how it's a pain and will be like 5 hours of labour etc. I found this ebay ad below and was wondering if it will work with my car? I previously had an e46 328ci with a grom unit installed behind the stock deck.

I have one of these early model heads.

Thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it.

is this thing the best bet and will it for sure interface with my unit? I don't want to buy it and then be unable to return it. Has any one on here gone with autotoys before?

Those aux cables won't work with your head unit... Cheapest route is probably the cassette tape hack which I believe involves soldering some wires (too much work imo). The Dension should work, I'm not sure about the exact model but I'm sure autotoys could help you with that. I have the same head unit as yours, and it's a pain in *** just to be able to hook my iPod up for some music. Best bet is to save up some $$ for a more updated aftermarket head unit

Yes you do have the cassette player, just press the EJ button and the display will come down lol

but I would suggest to get aftermarket stereo anyway because the music quality is....

I think I'm just going to go with the dension gwl1db1 from autotoys. I'll rock a cassette to aux adapter in the meantime. Many thanks to those who responded to my post.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Press the button under the "AUD" indicator to access the balance/fade/tone menu. Full information is in the owner's manual. If you don't have one, then you can download a PDF copy at www.mbusa.com in the "Owner's" section.
