red flash on dashboard

After I filled up last night with premium gas from Valero Gas station while driving I saw a red flash on the dashboard and heard a beep it was to quick for me to see what it read but shortly after it felt like the car was loosing horse power. When I put my foot into the gad pedal it didn't have the usual get up and go it seems to drive ok but when i get to 80mph it dosent speed up....Please Help

Go to an auto parts store and have them see if it has any stored codes. Most will read codes for free. It can have a code even of the CEL is not on.

you should definitely be getting some codes just like yidney said. better check that out. any vibration when the car is at idle? are the gear shifts alright i.e. smooth and normal? the only thing that can trigger a red light are an open door and a bad battery/alternator, unlocked steering column, a couple of other stuff. but nothing that's connected to the fuel pump/parts/lid; the 2 events are probably unrelated

sounds like its either a very simple thing or a very complicated thing; better of getting codes from the ECU

sometimes a generic code isn't given. a thorough test on STAR from a qualified person can find a problem fast. Try and find an independent shop that has STAR and knows how to use it.

Sparks plugs won't cause a sudden loss of power. A bad coil pack on one plug will cause a misfire or rough idle but not what you describe really.
