2004 clk convertable Stereo
I have a 2004 by title, I am informed that the navigation stereo is the d2b unite and not the most network unite. I would like to have a way to play music from my phone either by wire or Bluetooth to the stereo. I have no desire to use a cd changer. I purchased the Mcar unite after several aborted attempts to install they informed me that it was not going to be compatible.
I am confused doe to the fact that I have a 2004. if there is some light someone can shed on this I would appreciate it.

your going to have to change the headunit to 3rd party, or install command 2.0 and benefit from AUX. I think if i'm not mistaken theres was some module that replaces the CD changer that works over D2B, but I've read a lot it wasn't reliable.

Okk great!its pretty simple for you! You have what is called command 2.0. I had to retrofit command 2.0 just for aux. just follow this guide i got off the internet.

That is correct! Big difference! But as rodney stated the facelift model which starts by MY2005 runs on the MOST System. Thats why i told you to send a pic of your headunit to make sure. If it looks exactly like that picture that you posted and not like the picture below then its the prefacelift model (D2B system)

Bluetooth solution for old head units
I found an ION Bluetooth cassette tape adapter that has no wire to prevent the door from closing on your command unit. Its rechargeable and I plugged it into my 2002 ML500 and immediately paired it with my iPhone and it works great. $27 or so on ebay. I found a used one for $17. Cheap way to extend an a great old system into the future.
