Brake light lens fell off
Need some help and advice. The lens from the brake light (located on the trunk) has come off. The lights appear to have fallen inside the hole. See picture.
My questions:
1. Can I buy just the lens or do I need to buy the whole piece to include the lights?
2. What is the part number I need to buy?
3. How difficult is this job?
4. Has anyone ever had this happend to their MB?
Thanks for your help.

Mine did the same thing, but while I was in the process of cleaning it to tint the lens after I replaced the tails with Depo smoked tails. The lens just broke in 3 pieces. Fortunately I had needlessly, at the time, bought a replacement when I purchased the tails.
I purchased mine off Ebay for, I believe, around $30.
There are just two nuts (about a size 5/16" nut driver) that hold it in, pulling it to the outside of the cut out. I will see if one of the pics I took of the tails install shows the 3rd brake light fasteners.
You can use the write up I did on the tails install to remove the liner.
It is not at all a difficult thing to do. Two nuts and the connector.

oops! That write up I did was on the license plate led lights install. The liner removal is same. I checked the pics and none are of the 3rd brake light fasteners.
But, as I said....... Once you remove the liner you will easily see the two nuts. Remove them, disconnect the wiring connector, and it just pulls straight out. Since your lens is broken off it may just fall to the inside of the trunk.
