CLK W209 Parking break
Hello,
I found myself in a bit of a bother, and I was wondering if I could tap into your expertise (again I might add!). Yesterday my parking break handle has become loose, i.e. lost the tension. The parking break doesn't engage either, I can her the mechanism “click” but the pedal returns to the original position once released. Upon quick inspection I found that the spring on the foot pedal assembly has stretched in an unusual manner, as shown below – I think this is the culprit as the linkage between the lever and foot pedal appears to be ok. I also found that the trim surrounding the parking break lever is cracked around one screw, and should be replaced. So, two questions for your good selves:
1. Does anyone know the part # of the spring?
2. Does anyone know the part # of the parking lever assembly?
According to the diagram @ http://www.mbonlineparts.com/parts/2...gramCallOut=20 the trim for the parking break handle (no 21 and 20, respectively) is included with the handle itself, but there’s no part number for the assembly. If no-one's been there before then I'll remove the assembly, it's just that I'm away this week on business and trying to save myself a few days on lead time... So I’ll greatly appreciate any advice you might have for me – thank you for your time!
Best,
Mikolaj

Maybe this will help:
http://benzbits.com/w209/ParkingBrakePartsList.pdf
http://benzbits.com/w209/ParkingBrakePartsDiagram.pdf
I think it's #30. If the ratchet mechanism is weak or not working them #25.

Thank you so much for your response Rodney, the diagram is spot on and exactly what I was looking for!
Looks like there's 2 part numbers for the release handle that differ in color.
130 A 203 427 06 20 7C45 HANDLE RELEASE FOR FOOT OPERATED PARKING BRAKE [900] Color footnote
130 A 203 427 06 20 9051 HANDLE RELEASE FOR FOOT OPERATED PARKING BRAKE [901] Color footnote
By any chance, would you have access to the dashboard diagram, too? I tried accessing the benzbits.com URL directly, but a lovely "Under Construction" message shows up - and I'm still hunting for the trim bezel.
Thanks again for your help Rodney!

I don't actually have a "website" at benzbits.com - it's just a holding place where I upload PDF docs that I save from WIS/SDS. Specifically, what part of the dash do you need? There are many diagrams for that!

Thanks for clarification Rodney. At any rate, the piece I'm looking for is the beige trim bezel that surrounds the release handle (highlighted in red rectangle in the image in my 1st post). It's cracked all around one of the two screws so the entire tension when pulling the lever is transferred via one screw only, so I'd like to replace it.
Again, thanks for your support as I greatly appreciate your time answering my queries!

Hey Parkl,
So the bezel is not available on its own - it;s part of the dashboard assembly which seems ridiculous, but hey. Realistically your two options are fix the one you have or get lucky at breaker's / pull & pick, and that's what I did.

Yep, unfortunately - but there's always a CLK being stripped somewhere so I'm sure you're going to get one. Also, you can pick any color and spray it if needed to match the dashboard.
