There seem to be countless threads on the opposite.
Adding a clk grille to a c55.
I have already purchased the grille and the hood ornament.
Can someone provide me with a part number for the c55 hood latch?

Once I get this I will make a detailed DIY (even though it's ridiculously easy)
and post plenty of pictures for people to compare the before and after.

You will have to drill a hole in your hood for the star ornament, and even then I'm not sure it will fit just right.

Ok. I'll see what can be done with the ornament. I saw a clk here in the bay area driving around with one and the clk grille.
Any clues as to the part number for the c55 hood latch?

I can't find it in EPC, but is it not he same as the W209's? For the most part, the C55's front end is from the W209.

I believe since the c55 has a top part that attaches to the hood for the grille, the latch needs to be longer or lower to be accessible compared to the clk.

I may be wrong, but I believe that top part of the grill is just an exterior chrome trim piece stuck on the hood and has nothing to do with the latch. I checked WIS and I actually can't find the part number for the W203 C55. This is why I suspect it uses the same one as the W209

So the C55 and hood ornament arrived.
Long story short is that the easiest way to add the c55 grille to the clk is to get a c55 hood.
Clk grille on a c55 is a much easier process.

The hood latch definitely needs to be changed as it hits the top part of the grille and won't move. The hood doesn't have mounting points for the top trim of the grille. And of course there is no hole for the hood ornament to go through.
The only part that fits normally and easily is the bottom part of the grille. I wonder if there is a modded hood ornament that doesn't need a hole and can simply by put with the studs and rubbers grommets.
