Why i cant do rolling burnout with 272hp ?
Hi everybody
I have clk 350
I 've tried to do rolling burnout with my car, but it was't what i expected.
I see many other cars with same power doing this. Do i do something wrong ?
I step brake, rev up and floor it
For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Gna_tiq2SM

Before you do any of the above (don't) please set aside a couple grand for repairs
Also you're only putting down about 200hp to the wheels bruh
And you're comparing a rolling burnout of what seems to be an M5 video to your clk350, ummmm.... Not in same league
Have fun!!

You might be a able to do it in reverse but I wouldn't want to pay for the repairs. Seriously, get yourself a CLK 55 or 550 to be able to do burn outs

Please - Someone delete this thread. It's embarrassing...
I was once told by a driving instructor - "just because someone can buy a car doesn't mean they know how to drive one!"

Really, if someone wants to do donuts or burnouts, then why not? For me, I don't do that because I'd rather spend my hard-earned money on something besides tires (yeah, things like fuel senders and transmission conductor plates). But, every now an then, usually in the rain where I don't worry about peeling $25 worth of rubber off the tires, I switch off ESP (the dash button, not the full disable) and punch it, or do a little drifting around a curve. I'd never do this near other drivers or on busy streets, but only just in the right places where it's no harm. It's fun to learn how the car reacts and how to control it. Some might even say it makes one a better driver to learn how to do this in case of an emergency situation. But really, it's just a bit of fun.
So, for all you guys who think a little driving excitement is immature or unnecessary, well, go get yourself a Camry or Buick.

Well, the truth of the matter in my case is, I didn't buy a car with 380+ hp and about an equal amount of torque so I could make "efficient" passes on the interstate when someone decides to drive 60 in a 65 ahead of me......
I'm not a burnout fan, but I have done and do my share of "immature" things. So if the OP wants to do burnouts.... then burn on (borrowed from Isaac Hayes)....
Me taking open road curves at 15-20 mph over posted and occasionally doing a sprint with a GT, some BMW, or whatever, or playing exhaust music with some muscle car or Porsche on the interstate is more dangerous to others than a burnout in a parking lot.....
But I think some are just saying, burnouts are probably a bit difficult in a 320.

Time and place for everything. If you do it on the streets, by yourself or with other cars around. That shows immaturity whether you like it or not. Thats why there are tracks. You dont drive under or within the speed limits and follow normal road rules in the tracks so do it there. If you wanna just show off with some burn outs or drifts, do itin the tracks otherwise you are just a big idiot with a lot of growing up to do.

Like most on these forums - I love cars, and driving. When the occasion presents itself, and no one else is around I'll punch it. But if you want to get the most out of your car look to some local track events. Most sponsor everything from pace car restricted drives to open course/passing allowed events.
But more than that, I have tried to become a student of my car. I read the forum archives, I reach out to those in the know, I contact the vendors and manufacturers. And I realize the capabilities and limits of my car.
If all I want to do is burnouts, I'd visit my local drag strip or a drift competition and talk to the guys. But to take up bandwidth on the forum with a question which does nothing to add to the base of knowledge is a ... I don't know, a waste?

Well actually there's a solution. Its almost impossible to do a rolling burnout with a Merc on relatively average condition tires as the ESP will block it instantly, unless your in an AMG. You'll need to turn on the ESP Dynometer Test from your MFD. How you exactly do that is all over the forum and i cant remember the exact steps right now. But i highly advice against it because turning the setting on will also turn off your ABS and EBD. You dont want that while you try and do a burnout and drift..
