Arrow 2005 CLK320 Navi no longer reading disc?

w00t w00t! Ended up being the disc. Once I got a new 2011 disc it worked perfectly fine!

First time in my life I have ever seen a disc go bad that was never removed from something. It had normal scratches on it but other than that it looked ok... very odd. New disc and navi work just as before! w00t w00t!

SWEEET!

Thanks,
-Nigel

Sounds like either your DVD disc is ruined, or the DVD reader is ruined. I'd get myself another dvd before trying to fix the NAV unit.

Mine does this occasionally. Usually if I clean the disc, it seems to work for a month or two. I think the lens on the reader may be dirty. I have heard several people say they took their apart and cleaned it. I have also heard of people replacing the DVD reader when it has gone bad. I think it ends up being some sort of standard DVD reader unit that is available as a "part" for computers.

Is there a specific disc cleaner that you use? I have read that if one uses the disc with the bristles it can screw the lense up with the dvd drive?

Thanks,

I would not use a "cleaning disk" Instead, I'd first try air duster, then I'd take it apart and use a proper lens cleaning cloth.
