Throttle body upgrade
I'm sending out my throttle body to be bored larger and to have the shaft milled also. They can typically do 3-4mm larger. I attached a pic of the before and will post a pic when i get it back.
I wont have dyno results, but took the car to drag strip yesterday. so can do before and after runs to see the difference.
BTW car ran great yesterday, laid down best times it ever has and beat allot of stuff i was surprised to beat. Had allot of people checking it out.

This should be interesting. Do they just mill out that step in the throat? Hopefully they will be able get a new butterfly to fit correctly. I had one that did not seal correctly around the butterfly and the throat and it cause a lot of idle issues because of the unmetered air slipping through around it (high idle). Then they wouldn't stand behind their work.
I see you have a custom tune. Your tuner could probably do more with it too.
Hope you get good results!

That is puzzling since I emailed George at Maxbore this week to ask why he doesn't show Mercedes as one of the cars he bores throttle bodies for. He replied:
Hello.
I used to bore those but I am not able to work on them anymore.
They are way too time consuming and delicate to take apart.
The website shows the steps I take to bore a TB.
Thank you
George

drove the car a little last night, drives great, throttle response and idle is fine, no cels.
got on it a little cant say i notice a difference, but was expecting much from butt dyno. And if it helps i would think its going to be top end, which i really didnt run it like that last night. See how it drives this weekend and next weekend i will take it to the track and hopefully added a little mph to trap speeds.

went to the track yesterday, i couldnt get a 60ft as good as i normally do. But the car has a little more mph at the end of the 1/8. Even my worst pass i had more mph then my best previous pass. so i would say the throttle body helped top end

You didn't by chance get a picture of it down the bore with the butterfly open did you? Just curious.
Do you know how the new diameter compares to the diameter of the MAF meter?

but the mass air and the elbow from the mass air to the throttle body are def bigger than the throttle body itself

Great info. I'm curious if you've ever matched up against any M4's or M3's at your local drag strip. With your mods it should give a stock M4 a good run.
