Hi.

I just took a huge rock right in the face (windshield) and now have nice crack in it. I'm plannin' on replacing it, but ...
Since I live in a plce where we have a real winter, it thought about heated front windshield. I don't have it as an option on my CLK, but does anyone have any experience installing it by themselves? Does it even have a point or will it be more headache and too expensive?

As far as I can tell from the docs I have, there was never an option for a heated front windshield on the W209. I don't know if there would be an aftermarket option or not.

That's weird, because the windshield vendor here offered a new heated version. That's why I had the thought. But thanks for the answer. I fliped through the manual myself and didn't find anything regarding the electric heated windshield.

My best guess would be that they attach it rear window defroster and heat simultaneously.

You'd need a separate fused circuit to handle the front windshield. I don't know of any fuse that handles that, nor any button on the dash that controls a front windshield heater.

Rear defroster and front one are controlled by one button. They are connected together. I would think of it like that.
