Transmission woes

2005 CLK 500, 722.9 transmission. Set P0717 code, replaced conductor plate, cleared all codes with Star interface, and the car won't move. Won't engage in any gear. Any directions would be appreciated.

I see you have two threads on this issue. Let's keep it to one! First of all, the code you posted is not from Star (SDS) - it's a generic OBDIII code pulled from the ECU which basically says "check the TCU-specific codes". YOu need SDS to pull code from the TCU to see what's going on.

However, you say you changed out the conductor plate yourself? On the 722.9, the conductor plate contains the TCU, which requires SCN coding. This can only be done by a dealer with a "live" connection to MBUSA via SDS. This is because the TCU on the 722.9 is integral to the Drive Authorization System. Also, because of this, only a new "virgin" conductor plate can be SCN coded. You not re-code a used conductor plate.
