W209 Roof top vinyl fabric is losing / stagging

Hello everyone,

My clk was from 2004 so already 12 yrs old but still running good, but recently I found the vinyl / fabric of roof top had been losing or staging, I think the whole fabric will be falling down soon because the glue is too old and it's too hot in here.

I found a post from other old Mercedes forum, someone tried to use the iron to heat the glue in hot and put back on.

Did anyone tried these on your W209?

if not then the only way is to take out the whole roof panel to refix the fabric but I think it has to be done by indy,

thanks a lot!!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
With the pillar-less design of the W209, the headliner is not too hard to remove. Of course any good upholstery shop can do a headliner. Personally, I prefer a smooth vinyl headliner as it's more durable and easier to clean, but fabric looks nicer.
