Car sometimes shoots violently and then loses power
Hi guys, I have an issue with CLK 270, 2004
1 out of 10 times or so, when I kick down the accelerator (to the max), the car would start accelerating and then suddenly shoot violently forward for a second (like it had an extra 500 bhp or so), RPMs do shoot to ~4-5k, then I get engine light
And can no longer accelerate till I turn off / on ignition again. After few restarts, then light will turn off and would never appear again.
At first this happened to me only once like two years ago but now it is a frequent occurrence. Last time this happened, it broke the air pipe, replaced and few weeks later (today), another one is broken.
Any ideas? ll filters, replaced, etc. with original parts

Its a CLK270......does not have a throttle body!!! Amount of "throttle" is controlled purely by injector pressure and duration.......so effectively they have full throttle all the time as there is no throttle blade in the 270. Throttle pedal (for want of a better word) position sensor most likely. Had a similar issue on my Grand Cherokee CRD (same engine)....junk yard sensor fixed it.
Another possibility is turbo waste gate not functioning correctly. This will cause massive over boost for a second or two (hence the power increase) until the ECU shuts the motor down to protect it. What fault codes do you have?
