Something really weird just happened.
OK true story, over the past two days my 2004 320CLK started to crank a little slower, almost as if the battery was low. There were no indicators in dash of a battery or any other condition and no check engine light. After about two times starting up and cranking slow, it decided not to crank at all. I was able to jump start the car and drove home that day fine. I go to start it today and first attempt it does not start as expected because i figure the battery is going out right? Well, after connecting the ODB scanner to the laptop and verifying no codes are present, i left the key in the ON position for a couple minutes and low and behold it started up after that a little slow but it cranked hard enough to start.
So I'm confused. If it was the battery then how could it sort of build up a charge after a minute or two and then crank? Makes no sense.
Does this sounds like it could be a starter or is there some other relay or what not involved?
Anyone run into this before?

They way I see it you have 2 options. Have it scanned on STAR or get a new battery.
I prefer to have my car scanned if I am hunting an electrical problem but depending on the battery age you might just want to swap it anyway.

Thanks everyone - I will go by the advanced auto parts store near my house and have them check the battery. If I do need one, sounds like Bosch S6588B S6 Flat Plate AGM Battery would be the winner
