Low Beam Malfunction

I have this new malfunction in my 2004 CLK320; Low Beam right. I have an used xenon bulb (N 910139 000001) that may work.

I tried to replace the bulb but not sure how. I removed the round cover, removed the yellow cap but could see the headlight bulb. I tried to pull, then tried push/twist, but it would not move at all.

Any help is appreciated.

seeems you have HID??
If so, need to unclip the two springs that hold the bulb in place-
then pull the bulb out and replace

Yes. Thanks. I passed by my indie today and he told me about these 2 spring clips. The instruction in the owner manual is not applicable to HID.

Just a FYI, the retail price of this bulb is $167CAN. Mad crazy prices we have to pay here in Canada.

Yeah I still remember the crazy premium over the US prices back when I lived in Canada. Can you cross the border and buy it from the US?

Amazon has them a lot cheaper or buy some lower cost ones on eBay to have on hand

I prefer OE parts. My challenge is there are a lot of aftermarket parts online that I do not know if they are OE or not. Being in Canada, return is a hassle. Also, I am not a DIY guy so I have to make sure if it is the right parts to avoid labour cost twice.

I do know of a few online parts stores in US which sell genuine MB parts with reasonable prices but unfortunately, they all do not ship to Canada.

Last time I changed two of my spark plug cables. For the same parts, US online stores changed $16US and $20US depending on the length. In local Toronto dealership, they charged $65CAN each!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
For a bulb, I'd not worry about OE parts. In fact, many fuses, relays and bulbs being used in the factories are now made in China.

Agreed. On top of the problem to identify OE parts, there are also shipping and custom charges.

I don't understand why there is no Canadian online store which sells MB OE parts. I know of a few in US but not a single one in Canada.

So I have a low beam malfunction. I changed the bulb and checked the fuse, still doesn't work. Everything else like the high beam and parking lamps work fine. Any suggestion as to what the problem is?

Try switching over the working bulb and see if it was indeed a failed bulb.
