blend door actuator help

Hello my friends! When I start my '04 320 i get a steady clicking noise, like a slow count metronome, for about 2.5 minutes and then it just stops. After using some google-fu and asking about I think I have an issue with the blend door actuator. I don't have any issues related to heat or a/c not moving correctly just the silly noise letting me know it's a ticking bomb to certain explosion (kinda like my samsung note 7 was). However a search for this in the 209 forum doesn't get me anything. Of course this could be user error. So does anyone have experience with this repair in the 209? A DIY or link to a DIY? Or maybe the WIS so I can get completely confused. Or if this is not something to tackle then I get that as well.

Thanks for the help in whatever form!

You really need to pull codes from the ACC to determine exactly which servo is failing. A generic OBDII scanner won't do this - you need SDS or iCarsoft or something that reads specific MBZ systems. Once you find exactly which servo/ flap it is, we can help with WOS docs. Hopefully it's one of the easy ones.

Thanks Rodney. Now I have to find someone who will scan the car without charging me the obligatory "Scanning fee". I'll be back thanks so much!!

if you are going to DIY on this car, it is a good idea to invest in a scan tool. Check into iCarsoft i980 - it can be had for just over $100 and reads and resets codes form all the car's proprietary systems. You can get SDS for around $250, but you'll need a laptop and some pretty good computer/technical skills to install and use it.

I have discovered from scanning that it is the right side footwell. At least that is what the scan says. So hopefully this will help with what I need to fix the click. Also Rodney thanks for the tip on iCarsoft, that's a great benefit and will save me on the cost when I use it a second time as a scan at a shop is 90-100$
