W209 CLK320
Hey, i'm new and i have question

Hey, is putting the /////AMG badge on centrifugal supercharged 3.2 360hp clk w209 with full amg bodykit same like this on picture (c63 amg pipes 4x,straight pipe 2.5", diffuser, everything like on the pic) is lame or nah? 🙄 of course i want to leave the CLK32 emblem instead of CLK320 removing the 0 lol, i dont want to make it 55 or 63 or 8.0 mpower.. what's Your thoughts..The reason i want to put the badge on its the full body kit, i am not making a 5.5 or 6.3 badges, i want to leave a 3.2..and engine is modded.

Thanks for Your time.

I would giggle if I saw it. Ultimately, you've taken a 320, put on a body kit and a supercharger, and made it visually like an AMG. But it isn't an AMG car.

That's my personal view. I see it as a modded 320. It isn't a CLK 32- there was never such a thing.

Yes the car looks good and that, but you'd be labelling it as an AMG to appeal to those who don't know what an AMG actually is.

It's posing in its purest form, but if that's what you like, then so what; I don't see it as that much of a deal. Personally I'd debadge. Leave that air of mystery around the car. If you're worried about what people think, that wouldn't offend those whom care, neither would it matter to those who don't know. Let the aesthetics and exhaust note do the talking.

In the UK Mercedes put AMG badges on just about anything with "AMG look" from the factory.....even just ordering factory AMG wheels when new would get an AMG badge on the back.....so no I've not got a problem with it....would look quite Euro! The CLK32 badge would get people thing a bit too. One of the most popular models over here is the AMG packed diesel E class......which comes with the badge...so if Merc thinks its OK for a diesel then anything goes!!!

I always think its strange that people ask questions like this......its your car so as far as looks goes its up to you....who cares what anyone else thinks.........want to paint it pink with foot high AMG graphics down the side???.....not my cup of tea....but if you like the idea go for it!!!

That is a sick looking car!! I love the rear diffuser, and like the wheel choice too. Did you buy it supercharged or did you do that? Would love to hear more about it.

Its your car do what you want. Personally if the car doesn't have have a name badge under the hood it shouldn't have an amg badge. If I were you and put so much into the car I would try to get an AMG looking badge that was my initials instead.

I'm am all for the owners' initials...... I also thought about "MW" for "my way" but thought too many would think it was a BMW that lost a B... I'll keep some far background thought to it.....

Very nice looking car, Its a silly question to ask but I personally would would never fit a AMG badge on a Non AMG car ever. I did see once a Maserati with a type R badge on the back from a Civic lol.

I've been considering removing the 55 from mine and getting a ya to put in its place. I already took the AMG badge off.

You cant take the AMG badge off!!! Its an AMG car! YOU ARE MISREPRESENTING YOUR CAR!!! OMG IM MAD!

Thats basically what it look like to me when ppl complain about adding the amg badge. Do you also complain when a mustang throws on a gt badge? Or when a v6 mustang has "5.0" badging. We have all seen Type-R "insert car here". Or do you get upset when you see Nismo on a regular nissan? Come on guys. Its really silly, and gives you a good laugh when you know its not a special car. But to each his own.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Speaking of badges, some of my favorites:

"C240 Kompressor" - it was actually a C230 Kompressor as evidenced by the sport package (not available on US model C240s). Why someone would think "240" is better than "230" and go to the trouble to swap, I don't know.

"CLK230" on a W203 C-Class - I guess more letters make it better?

"E530" - An odd sized V8 made by swapping two digits.

"MLK350" - In memory of a civil rights leader.

Mercedes did make an AMG supercharged M112. They are in Chrysler Crossfires SRT6. The engine package would look a lot neater/factory type install vice the above picture.

I dont get mad at all. I do however think it is underhanded for dealers to but AMG badges on non AMG cars.

ill just leave this here https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...osers-117.html

......but the C43 AMG and the A45 AMG don't have name plates on the motors and they are def AMG cars......just not with engines built by one man.
