Yep, I bought the same part. I prefer this guys mbdirectparts.com. I bought lots of parts from them.... maybe even too many Most likely they wont have it it stock and it usually takes 5-6 days for them to receive it from german, but I don't think that any of shops have it in stock.
You should double check with them about a color, you just need to send them your VIN.

Definitely you can buy whole armrest lid from junkyard, but I don't think that it would be easy to find one in a good condition

Thanks, definitely agreed about one in good condition is hard(or crazy expensive) to find. so I found one in which top is not in great condition but otherwise looks to be fine. What do you think?

Else, I'll drop the idea of used and just buy new

Unfortunately I don't in my case it's $12 for shipping to CA.
And about armrest lid from junkyard I'd say it depends on how much do they want for it

Thanks. They are asking $50 including shipping for the whole cover, as I attached above.

It makes it harder
If it's your daily driver car I'd go with used one, it's easier to install

I'll buy the used one and swap the latch, that's doable and won't be a problem?

Yep, just use rubber hammer, or replace an entire lid

If it's the top cover of the handle that came off, I put a couple of dots of superglue on mine about 5 years ago. Still holding well and fully functional today.

Thanks, that's not a bad idea. I'll give it a go on the old one, anyways.

Since I'll be receiving a new one tomorrow.

Alright, I used crazy glue and seem like it's not holding it. Also, I have received the new part and lock cylinder is empty.

Based on the 'German' video, I can just use a mallet and slide the old one out. Is that correct?

If so, I know WIS document has been shared. Is cylinder replacement fairly simple?

I just don't want to break anything

Thanks for the help.

I have the lid and old latch removed, now looking at the screenshots. Should I just break the lock and swap it in?

Thanks for the help

If by "break the lock" you mean remove it from old latch and install it into new one then are right If you'll have problems with it I can try to make a video how-to

Thanks so much. Let me try to follow the WIS images. If you know any youtube video or any step by step DIY, I am all ears

So I followed your direction and instructions posted on WIS, this is what I am left with, is that it or I have broken something else while pulling this cylinder out?

It seems OK, try to press it into new latch.

Yeah it did work like a charm and cylinder is in, though new latch seems more gray

Thanks so much dzmitry, truly appreciate your help.

BTW, I must say your lid in post#7 looks in great condition!

I was able to put everything back by watching that benz video. I must say once you understand the logic, it's very simple before that, it's a ROYAL pita.

Previously my old latch was broken and hence lid was a true pain.

Now it's working like a charm. Thanks again dzmitry for all of your help and patience. Without you, I could not have figured this out!!! I double salute you

You can buy a copy of WIS on ebay.
Mine is 2004 with 76k miles, but previous owner let's say didn't really care about it much. Interior was trashed
I disassembled almost every piece of interior and cleaned. Now trying to fix soft top and assemble everything back
