Funny keyless go problem

Hi Everyone,

Ive got a funny problem with the keyless-go passenger door handle of my CLK(RHD).

The lock button doesnt function and the unlock unlock pad on the inner side of the handle locks the car.

Anyone ever heard about this fault?

Well, that's a new one on me! Maybe a bad door controller? I'd try "rebooting" it by pulling fuse 22 (end of dash, driver's side fuse panel). Oh, that assumes you have LHD - please update your forum user's profile to indicate your location (at least country).

Car is RHD. Problem handle is on the left. Will try fuse 22. I had change the door controller on the drivers side a year ago. Is there a controller in each door?

Pulled the fuse and left it out for 30 mins. Put it back in. Problem is still there. :/

Yes, each door has its own controller that sends and receives signals over the CAN bus for all the "things" in that door. Fuse 21 is for the left side door controller.

UPDATE--The problem seemed to have fixed itself(for now). I've had this car for about 5 years, I've found the electronics to be temperamental, to say the least

We had a cold period here in Malta where the temperature dropped drastically by about 10 degrees Celsius in about 2 days. Fault happened around then. Could that have made a difference?
