CLK W209 speaker size

Yes - there are 2 speakers in the door. I believe that is what cliffybabe is saying -- there is a 6.5" mid in the kick panel and a 1" dome tweeter just inside the side mirror. See the pic below...

Actually, there are two on the door and one tweeter. Seems like there is a midrange on the tip of the door. Check it out. It seem like there is one for my car.

You are correct. The speakers in the CLK are all in the door. The first set is the ones illustrated in the picture above. I can confirm that those are 6.5 components with a 1 “ tweeter. The second set is a non-component at the end of the door which aims directly at the seat. This is the rear speaker and is only made up of a single cone. My problem is I do not know what size that speaker is some say 5” and others say 5 ¼. If anyone can confirm thanks a lot.
The grills you see in your rear deck are dummies. No speakers are in your rear deck, although there is a sub in your trunk that aims out of the driver side grill.

2x 16 cm plus Tweeter
Hi Guys, I just got done with the Speakers in My doors (W209), I fitted a Dynaudio Tweeter in the original tweeter place and you see nothing, I love that...
The Lower Front is an 16cm (believe 6 1/2 inch) original Speaker, I fitted a Radical Audio 16cm MidWoofer there, and they are pretty huge, so no probs in the front, but the back looks different...
The back has something like a Slimline 15cm (6"?) Speaker and I had to do some Woodwork there... (MDF Speaker Rings) which gave me an extra 32mm depth altogether. It is pretty tight but it doesn't hit the door panel from the inside so far... got to cut the freq of the back ones lower, but other than that it sounds lovely together with zapco z400C4 and orion 2nt
Greetings Stefan

Well after finding out the hard way I now know the correct speaker sizes for a U.S CLK.
The front and rear speakers are 6.5” I had purchased 5.25” for the rear and went to have them installed today. After the installer opened my door he said the actual speaker is a 6.5” in the rear, which is the same size as the front.
