I called a MB dealer a few months ago and I think they told me they are $273, or was that $173 darn memory. Anyhow they are available but come unpainted. I was thinking of making my own black metal screen for that area. Has anyone done this?

I was thinking of doing that as well and there are instructions listed. Here is the thread link of some of the how to's. Thank you to the people who posted them.

2002 CLK55 Cabriolet (DEAD: 1989 300E, 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible)
I had a dealer replace mine (which got into a close encounter with a concrete block at the end of a parking space, and got pulled out unbeknownst to me, later to fall off on the freeway!) and the part itself was only like $120 or so. I was having some other work done at their Body Shop (ill-fitting window) so I had them do the paintwork and installation as part of it along with the other work.

I picked up the lower insert at the MB dealer the other day for $170. They even had it in stock! The base coat color is already silver. It's not the exact match for Mercedes Brilliant Silver, but close enough to not look too bad just mounting it on the car.

Ok, Bought a new one for $163. The dealer quoted $100 to paint. Not that Im cheap, but I bought a $4 can of silver auto paint and you cant tell it was ever missing.
