What do you guys think about the Black Opal color (bluish haze)?

Eh..?
Ugly?

Black opal is a rare color, and beautiful dirty or clean

Given a second chance I would not purchase a black opal car (mine is). It's a difficult color to maintain (shows a lot of dirt), the paint is "soft" and scratches/nicks easily and it is hard to color match. Future cars will all be silver, white or other light color.

Absolutely love my Black Opal color. Like a chameleon - depending on the ambient light it takes on shades - tinges of black, blue, green. Personally have not had an issue with dirt etc. will show dust like any dark paint so a rinse is always in order. Have often wondered if a lighter color would show dirt/dust more easily...no personal experience since all my cars seem to be in the darker shades..

I like Black Opal

My OLD 96 SL320 is Black Opal and I still get compliments on the car and color.

My CLK 55 was black opal. I think it's a great color. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite MB colors.

Anyone think the Black Opal color is not good looking?
Honestly, that was my first impression...

any car thats black is gonna be somewhat of a pain in the ass to take care of...just makes u have to step up ur car cleaning game...lol...no automated car washes and a frequent wax will keep it in check...black is always the sexiest color for any car if u ask me...people just get nervous/lazy when it comes to caring for the paint job...in the end, i'd take regular ol' black over black opal...

On my CLS55 the color reminded me of pin stripe suit.

I agree. A classy Navy Blue pin stripe suit.
(I think the car looks more dark blue than black)

Blue, Black, Grey, smoky, all of the above. The pearl accent in the paint makes a world of difference. I've had a Black Opal benz for 5+ years and everytime I walk up to it, I am glad I picked it because it's far more interesting color than an ordinary dark color

That's funny. I had the car valet parked last night and the attendant asked me if I had the grey MB. And told him no, I have a dark blue. He had to check my ticket and said it was the right car.
