Weird problem with my trunk (CLK55 W208)

Hi all,

I hope someone here can maybe give me some ideas before I go to the dealer and get to say thank you for being raped.

This is on a 2002 CLK55 convertible.

The trunk lid has stopped responding to the electrical switch - both on the console and on the key FOB. The mechanical key works fine. Interestingly, the console switch DOES light up when the trunk lid is open (that is, it recognizes the opening of the trunk).

This "just happened"; it opened fine to put some groceries in, and by the time I got home, it refused to do so.

Any ideas? many thanks in advance.

that same thing happened to me before...don't ask me how I fixed it. I just kept fkin with it till it started working again.

This time-honored method worked for me lately to get the CD changer in the trunk going again.

I've never used my cd changer...
