currently I am working on getting the front bumper installed from the old thread http://mbworld.org/forums/attachment...-55-bumper.jpg
The car goes into the body shop tomorrow to begin the installation. I also have added a decal which i will post a pic of later. but the new project list goes as follows: Appearence: dual exhaust project: have all necessary exhaust but need to buy bumper and valence to begin. rear spoiler pretty self explanitory altho it is on the back burner..i want to complete the exhaust project before going to the spoiler. thinking about changing the front grill slightly but still in r&d. adding sat nav system pretty self explanitory. Performance: install headers to complete exhaust system install ported intake manifold reprogram ecu **if for some reason the engine dies I may consider a serious performance upgrade then.....im thinking an e55 engine minus the s/c with n/a intake and turbo system. Handling: install new/better shocks to go with springs install upgraded sway bars install front and rear strut tower braces. Braking: install slotted rotors...this project may happen soon. basically when i need my pads replaced i will replace the rotors too. So it will probably be front rotors then rears in about a year or when the rear pads need replacing. Last edited by dohcfiend; 08-25-2011 at 01:24 PM. |

Of all the projects; the bumper and grill are in the forefront; followed by rotors as needed and satnav system.
all the rest are considered cold until otherwise noted. |

To be honest i haven't really done any research on the tune yet. on the headers, ill either get a used set from someone when the time is right or maybe the $300 ones on ebay.
It will be some time before i really dip into engine performance because the performance now seems decent and balanced to me. Last edited by dohcfiend; 08-27-2011 at 09:35 AM. |

Update:
I have the UR-S front bumper installed finally. took forever to find someone willing to do it bc on the east coast most bodymen are greedy and lazy. As suspected it didn't fit perfectly but it is better than the beat up stock front bumper and the lip coupled with the springs should keep the front planted to stop any high speed lift that i was experiencing. Only major flaw is the gap between the lights and the bumper on the bottom. otherwise i am happy with it. also wanted to say that after providing pics that ED was willing to issue a full refund as well. But i couldn't find one with the same style I liked plus id have to wait even longer to get a bumper with potentially the same problems and the next guy may not have offered a refund. If i had committed to it however I would have gotten the c63 style bumper from VIS; that was the only other bumper I seen that didn't give you the impression it was grafted off of a Honda. other things i am pleased with is the bodyman was able to mount the stock foglights back in, flush mount the w209 sidemarkers which are sleeker, it lined up great with the stock sidemarkers and it has an aggressive look without shouting RICE. lmk what you think. p.s. next will be the rear bumper/dual exhaust but will take a while unless income improves. also wanted to add that the fabricator could have made the headlights flush but that would have entailed shaving the sides and I was already over-budget on the labor.
Perhaps at some point in the future I can have it flush mounted once I complete some other projects.
