Service B in 27 days(so soon?)

hi all,
i bought my 2006 CLK55 late last year w/ 82k miles, and it currently has about 87k miles. The car just had oil change and service before I bought the car. Does it seem strange that it's saying "B-service in 27 days"(it's been counting down since 30 days)?
I don't mind getting oil change, but I'm wondering if the B service comes up automatically that quickly, even if it's less than 6k miles and less than one year?
any input would be appreciated. thx.

FSS checks the quality of the oil and counts down the days since the last service. Whichever it determines is due first is what triggers the service.

The oil in any car should be changed at least once a year. If I bought a brand new car at a dealer, and the build date in the door jamb showed 11+ months of age, I'd have the dealer change the oil before I took possession.
