Lost my only key, what do I do?

As you guys may know I have a 2003 CLK55 72k miles, every option except xenons. I only had one key originally from when I purchased the car, and as of last night I have no idea where my key is. I got home, so it has to be here somewhere but I literally looked for hours and hours last night every inch of my home and outside. What is the best / cheapest way of going about getting a new key and is getting ripped off by the dealer my only option. Also when I do get the key can I program it here myself since the car is now stranded in my driveway. If anyone could give inputs or information on personal experience I would really appreciate it. Trying to do the quickest, least expensive method to fix this problem.

Getting ripped by the dealer is the only option as you will have to sign a form with proof of ownership (registration) and photo-copy your liscense. MB will send a key based on VIN #, sorry

Wow that really sucks. I have keyless too so I am sure its more money.

FOUND! In the couch cushion in the living room underneath with a bunch of little toy cars. Gotta love 4 year olds.

For real man, I wanted to update to the newer style key for the car eventually, but this isn't the way I had in mind haha.

Without a doubt. Make a copy, use the copy as the original and keep the old style key as a secondary. The new key fob is pretty slick!!
