They are all valid options, it's up to you. I'm gonna use a dual in/out muffler and run pipes to the tips.
You might not want to buy those tips, I think they are too small Mikata bought those and said they were smaller than the ones on his clk55. He is now trying to sell them. OEM C55 AMG tips Tips |

I live in France too, and I have the same 55. I want to go to quad exhaust. Did you do the mod eventually ? |

I just did a conversion like that for a customer on a 2009 clk 550 (w 209) quad exhaust, dual mufflers, spare wheel well, mandrel pipes the whole works. here's what it looks & sounds like (there are 3 videos of before mid and after....if you have any questions feel free to ask.

If it's just esthetics, you can do it like mine.
Two amg tips welded onto a flat plate...attached to the rear of the spare well. Took some time getting the length and angle correct. Modifying the rear bumper cover was $200.... Took it on/off myself. No exhaust comes from it but you can only tell that on a cold day before warmup!
