w209 amg clk55 widest tires on stock wheels.

What is the widest tire on the stock front and rear rims that i can run on my 2004 clk55 amg. I want to try to keep around the stock profile. But i want to run as wide as possible front and back. Any suggestions? I tried to search the forum and could not find anything.

A lot of people with aftermarket wheels run 235/35 fronts & 275/30 rears. Thats the recommended setting. I however am going with 285s in the rear on 19s, something I havent seen on 209s and been told by D2Forged I should be fine

I dont know if stock wheels make any difference

Stock rears are 8.5" wide, so I think the widest you could go is 255. This is a helpful tool for comparing dimensions of different size tires: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Only took a month(!), but yes, 255 is the answer.

I was thinking that in the rear you could run something around 275. It's good to know that 265 is largest you can go.
