Does 04 CLK55 AMG have Valeo rad issue?

I am looking into a very clean 04 CLK55 AMG (52k miles clearly a weekend car) that caught my attention at a local dealer. Not having much MB knowledge I am trying to cram as much as I can to see if this could be a possibility. I am well capable of weekend mechanic work to keep the car running well and costs down. It seems the only issue I have not been able to clearly determine is the radiator issue and weather or not it exist in the 04, or is it only a 03 issue.
If so how do I identify the rad? is it labeled clearly somewhere if it is a Valeo?
Otherwise it just looks like general used car inspection rules apply. Any input is welcome if I missed anything else.
Thanks
Vic

It is in that range for those bad ones. Keep in mind though, not everyone of the rads are bad, but its best just to replace it if you can

yes, it probably is. alot of cars suffer from coolant in the transmission fluid in that year range. ive even had bad new ones as well.

Euro Cars Only
Mostly 03s were affected, not so many 04s.
I have an 03 and did not have the issue however I am placing an order for a new BEHR right now, now that I got the correct part number.
Ask the dealership about the cars radiator. If they cant get you the info ask for the VIN number. If indeed has a Valeo it won't cost you much to replace with a Behr, they go for 214$ on parts.com

Directly from the Star Bulletin about the issue:
Model 203.040/061/064/065/081/084/261/264/281/284/740/747/764
Model 209.365/375/376/465/475
Model 211.065/070/076/083/265/283
Up to Production Date 09/2003

Our '04 was built in August, 2003, and we had the Valeo radiator.

Here is the full bulletin - it shows a picture of how to identify a Valeo radiator (although I could never seem to figure out where exactly the picture is looking!): star bulletin P-B-27.55 50f.pdf

Just wondering if this would be good:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mercedes-Radi...item20c3039856

Looks like it's for V6s. Is it the same radiator for the V8s too?

Just got this:

203-500-42-03

It's a Valeo Radiator with an updated part number. Will it still have the same problems as the old one?
