Haha thanks. Just order like you would order on the english ebay site. The seller ships DHL economy or something like that...took a week to get to the US.

Coil overs have always been the best way to go in drag and track performance.

We are all CLK but two different chassis in 208/209 and some of the Benz utilize air bags which is fine for commuting but any type of moderate performance use should consider aftermarket alternatives.

Compliments to a lowered suspension would be larger diameter sway bars as the geometry is changed and clearances are compromised. Shocks can be touchy at this point as ride height affects the shock mount sweet spot. Lowering the car a couple of inches might set the shock up in bottom out position on a 208.
The 209 with coil overs would be forgiving in this case. The struts springs can be a streetable unicoil that has different diameter coils or race with max torsion and a firm low ride.
something to chew on,

Cheers, Gator

What is the exact offset? Front and rear?

Yeah, I think those come into consideration when you significantly lower the car. 1-1.5 inches I seriously doubt would have any serious negative impact. Hell, the car lowers that much with a fat driver

As far as sway bars I think this car is set up quite well. It's not a track car but it's a good compromise between ride and performance. However, it would really benefit from some chassis stiffening like front/rear strut bars and maybe some more under body bracing. Of course, probably nobody makes anything for it though.

So it seems we are both in Jersey. Maybe we can hook up this summer and talk about your audio conversion. I am not crazy about the lack of oomph on my CLK 63 HK system.

A bit of an update on the diffuser...V2 haha. The VIS diffuser is nice on its own but it feels unfinished.

The new middle piece bridges the gap between the spare tire well and the bumper/CF diffuser nicely...and is functional. I may add more pieces in the future to cover the bottom of the exhaust.

The steering wheel is not done yet...but it's almost there

Regular shot

Closer

And one to make it more visible

I called it V2 because it's the 2nd time I mess around with it haha. What you see is basically a VIS diffuser with additional pieces. The piece in the middle is bolted to the VIS diffuser and it covers the gap between the bumper/VIS diffuser and the spare tire well. There are also 2 additional fins on the sides. So no, you can't buy it as is...but you can buy the pieces to make your own like I did.

Thanks

It's not a secret. We're here to help each other

Here's the link:

It will have to be modded depending on your exhaust configuration. However, it's a quality piece and fits pretty well.

Hey bud,

Just out of interest, have you lowered your car?
Also, approximately how much clearance do you have off the floor with your front end/ splitter?

jkiddd33 - Nope the diffuser has 3 "lines" the splitter has 4. No need to line up as they are separate pieces. I had the same thought initially, but it actually looks much better if they don't match.

Yes I am lowered on Eibachs. Clearance is adequate...I don't know how many inches exactly but I guess I could measure

Hey did you have trouble putting in the newer ac control? Did you need any new wires or anything like that?

New wires? No. You do need to make a connector for some of the wires though. Definitely not "rocket surgery" territory.
