amazing isn't it we are old enough to own these fine vehicles but cannot post a pic on the website, do not feel bad I still cannot, and only on this MB site. Did he do a double set of stitches similar to the one on jeans?

Single stitch but he went back and forth on both sides.

I still have a stupid grim every morning when I hit the start button and hear that low rumble behind me...

Congratulations on the pickup. 08's are hard to find. I searched for quite a while too.

I can't say that I've experienced any problems on the dash, except perhaps for that little yellow gas pump icon...it comes up way too often. The car is a joy to experience. Best of luck, welcome to the group

Yes the gas tank seems quite a bit smaller than in the E,

Yeah that yellow gas icon does show up way too often but hey, the permagrin is worth it.

I forgot to mention, mine is black with tan (almost white?) interior. Everything is mint and the only "extras" missing are the parktronic and a phone. It even had the iPod interface. In addition it has a little extra after market gift, a K40 remote radar detector with front and rear sensors and a radar diffuser Dealer hands me the remote fob and says "we don't know if it works or how but it came with it, it's yours" It works! ;-)

So, have any of you CLK 63 cabrio folks solved the spare tire riddle? Has anyone found one that fits the trunk and can be used in front and rear?

When I got home from my Vegas trip I called the dealer and asked WTH was my spare. The sales guy apologized up and down and said he'd get back to me. When he called back and explained the 08 did not come with one I was the one doing the apologizing. LOL...

The dealer is correct...a spare was not included in the 2007 models as well. IMO MB engineers got lazy and shortchanged the cabriolet by not removing the "tub" so that the car could be equipped with quad exhaust. Still a nice looking car but should have been equipped with quad exhaust.

impatiently waiting for my delivery...

Hi everyone, Newbie here
My new purchase, a 2007 CLK 63AMG cabrio, is being picked up tonight from SC and will be on its way to me in NYC. Selling my CLK320, I was looking for a faster, more badass Benz. I think I made an awesome choice. Looking forward to sharing pictures with you all, and thanks for all the tips I've been reading on here already.

Welcome to the crazy train Jenny !

Yes, you made an awesome choice...no one here will argue that one.

So many new owners in Southern New England/metro NYC , it's got to be like 6 or 7 in the past 6 months. We definitely need to get all these cars together sometime....

Welcome to the club Jenny. We're definitely going to have to have a NY/NJ/CT/ePA cruise in.

congrats and enjoy...i think the CLK AMG cab is still my favorite car of all time.
i'd love to get a CLK63 cab, but currently tough to justify paying $15k more to upgrade my CLK55 cab...esp trying to find a clean one in a color that i like - white/blk.

Thanks so much everyone! I just got word my transport will deliver tonight or early tomorrow morning. Can't wait!!

It's blk/blk but may be doing a custom wrap for it shortly after I get it.
What is everyone's opinion of the exhaust system? Heard it sounds pretty mean with a quad tailpipe installed...

A meet in the future for sure would be great!

Meet?

So life has had me busy for a bit. Are we doing the meet sometime before the summer is over?

We Should Meet

I enjoyed a meet and greet exotic car event at Colt State Park in Rhode Island all alone this summer. The event relocated and the thread on the MB forum was never updated...but that venue was wonderful. Views of Narragansett bay were picturesque and the drive was a pleasure.

Provided there were any interest, I would look into arrangements for reserving an area.

Spare tire....or lack of.
Trunk should have a air compressor and a can of Slime.

My cure was to go to a motorcycle shop and purchase a tire plug kit to leave in the trunk.

So plug, slime, inflate and go.
Or use my cell for a flat bed tow.

Other option, find runflat tires that fit the rims and the same plug slime etc routine.

GTG at Lime Rock park , CT August 31?

There is a huge car show/GTG on the track this coming Sunday at the LRP's Vintage weekend. $30 to get on the track with the other 1000 or so cars.

Mercedes will have a dedicated parking area for us. Sir Stirling Moss is also going to come over at some point during the day to visit with all the MBs, sign autographs and take pix.

There is a nice concourse also in the main straight with many Pebble Beach quality show cars...Ralph Lauren is bringing some of his cars from his collection as well.

I will prolly be in my 500E, not sure if my wife wife bring the Cabriolet or the RS6...anyway, hope to see and meet some of yous.
