For 6 months I searched high and low for just the right CLK 63. It had to be an '08 fully loaded one owner with very low miles. I know, a tall order, but they had one in Easton PA so I made the drive out there in my 430. (Any excuse would have prompted that drive)
To my greatest disappointment, when I arrived, the new owner had just cut a check for the car...the ink was still wet; I missed the car because I failed to make a deposit before driving out to inspect it. The salesman understood my frustration and I was clear that I wanted first shot at the next car if it was in impeccable condition.

I don't find it so surprising that a given dealer gets more than 1 such car. The secondary market isn't a lottery, or subject to short allocation like new car distribution. Even something as rare as an 08 CLK 63, with less than 100 in existance can be found with persistence.
I deal in exotic pool cues. There are a few builders whose production is so short or who are now deceased that one might wonder how an individual broker would acquire more than one of their cues...but given the presence of a buyer, a smart broker will locate product that is not for sale and then perhaps stimulate a trade-in with the right offer.
My CLK 63 came in against an E-class on Long Island. Perhaps your dealer in PA had something to entice a happy CLK63 owner to make a change. It happens all the time with high end cue collecting.
Either way, the car has a new home

Yeah I see where they have ANOTHER one, a 2007 this time, so that means he's picked up at least 3 of the 243 of these in the US.
So far as I know, he's getting them from auctions and other dealers, and he pretty much specializes in finding things at the dealer auctions.
Come spring, we'll have to get together and you can embarrass me at pool.

CLK 63 Cab
Coming in late on this thread. I went to Highline's site to check out your car (very elegant) & see you have a Guido engine. I also have a Guido & so far not even a stumble. I enjoy mine tremendously. It's the perfect cruiser & screamer all rolled into one.

So guys, it seems there are at least 3 of us in the NY area with 08 CLK 63 cabrios. What are the chances of that when there were only 100 for the US? It seems we need a meet come summer. I'd love a picture of these 3 babies side to side...

I'm in! I'd travel to NY or gladly host a small gathering here in RI. Whatever is the consensus.

I'm in, but timing is going to be a mother. It just finally got warm enough to drop the top today.... and starting this Thursday my weekends are full.
I'm probably having a Saturday BBQ in Queens some time in June.... maybe we could go for a morning drive then you guys stick around for the BBQ in the afternoon.
BTW, I saw a black CLK55 Cabrio crossing Lex on 54th this week. The closest I've come to seeing one of ours in the wild.

Mine was actually a Cleveland Ohio car that made it to a dealer in Easton. Same dealer has an '07 CLK63 and '04 CLK55 now.

Was thinking 08's since it was the last year they were made.
Mine came from Vegas. Wife and I flew out there and drove it back. Lots of fun cruising the strip and jumping in and out of casinos for a drink along the way. Too bad for the "frozen fog" storm in Texas and Oklahoma on the way home. First time I had heard/seen such a thing, it freezes everything it touches, trees, road barriers, road surfaces, mirrors, lights. Very scary when all of the sudden you electronic traction control goes nuts at 75 while on cruise control.

We could all get together at MB HQ in June for their annual car show....it's pretty close to NYC.
Hundreds of MBs show up at this event....
I usually have a get together on my property too in the summer which all are invited to, but it is with a bunch of euros; not just MBs.
